Brad Sigut, Viper Speed & Strength Academy Owner
Brad Sigut attended the University of Richmond on a
full football scholarship, playing both quarterback and linebacker positions.
Graduated with an Education & Sports Science degree. Spent college summers
training with Ron Matteucci and the Dallas Cowboys core Speed/Strength program.
Owner of the Norwin Speed & Strength Academy in North Huntingdon, PA training hundreds of the top athletes in Westmoreland County.
Has trained youth, junior high, high school and professional athletes conducting
speed clinics throughout western Pennsylvania.
Attended East Allegheny and was inducted to the 1987
Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame and High School Super Team, 1987 WPIAL Passing
Leader with 1,818 yards, Member of the 1987 Football Fabulous 22 and Finest 44,
Member of the 1986 Baseball Fab 22 East and Pittsburgh East All Stars.
Mike Whiteman, NASM-CPT, Director and Head Sports Performance Trainer
Mike Whiteman
graduated suma cum laude from Seton Hill University in May of 2006 with a BS in
Biology. Earned 3.97 GPA at Seton Hill which put him first in all science
degrees conferred. Mike is a NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine)
Certified Personal Trainer.
In college, Mike was a four year starter and two year captain for the Seton Hill
Men’s soccer team. He also was a two time NAIA Academic All-American First Team
selection and an AMEAC leading points scorer. Mike’s other athletic
accomplishments include Norwin High School Soccer Team captain, WPIAL 1-AAA
Finest Fifteen Selection, All Section, All County, placed in WCCA track and
field invitational and qualified for WPIAL’s as a sprinter. Growing up Mike was
also an eight time state champion for the Penns Forrest Wolfpack and two time
Regional Bronze medalist.
Earl Shepherd, Sports Performance Trainer

Earl Shepherd
has over seven years of experience training athletes from the elementary through professional levels. As a world class athlete, Mr. Shepherd was a member of the U.S. Bobsled team from 1997-2001. A few of his many
accomplishments include American Gladiator winner, 1st Place in both the
Met-Rx and Mountaineer Strongman competitions and World Police & Fire
Games Champion. Coach Shepherd combines experience and determination
to get the most out of every athlete he trains.
Jess Brinson, Sports Performance Trainer
Jess Brinson
attended Bucknell University on a full athletic scholarship, playing running back, wide receiver, and returning kickoffs
and punts. Completed collegiate career at New Mexico Highlands University playing under coach Jon Fassel who is now coaching
with the Oakland Raiders. Also played under coach Chris Turner who is also a coach with the Oakland Raiders. Coached two
seasons at New Mexico Highlands University as running backs coach.
Graduated from Ambridge high school in 2000 holding school records in the 100 meter dash (10.6 seconds),
the triple jump (45' 7.5"), and the single game rushing record (301 yards), all of which are still standing today.
Was the Beaver County Rushing leader during senior season. Played in the Penn-Ohio all-star game. Was also a high school
wrestler. Was named Patriot league rookie of the week following the rivalry game against Lehigh. Earned player of the game honors
several times and earned a varsity letter in every season.
Brian Fabian, NSCA, USAW Certified Sports Performance Trainer
Brian Fabian
received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Slippery Rock University. Brian has many years of experience in sports performance training working under the tutelage of Chet Fuhrman, the head strength and conditioning coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Brian also worked at Velocity, utilizing the speed training programs designed by legendary speed coach Loren Seagrave. Brian also had a fifteen year career in professional wrestling, working for companies such as WWE and NWA (now TNA wrestling). Coach Fabian knows how to get the most out of our Norwin and Viper athletes, we are very excited to have him on our staff.
Tim Tray, NESTA Certified Sports Performance Trainer
Coach
Tim Tray graduated from Slippery Rock with a bachelor's degree in Business
Marketing. Tim was an NCAA All-American Pole Vaulter and five time National
Qualifier. He is a 2003 Norwin graduate who was a multi-sport athlete, All State
Track Team and 2003 Pittsburgh Post Gazette East Athlete of the Year. Tim
thrived under the tutelage of his father who has been coaching Track and Field
at Norwin for the past thirty years. Tim knows the hard work and dedication that
it takes to become one of the best in the country at what you do. Athletes
flourish under the direction of Coach Tray.
